   Australia was first settled by Asian aborigines about 40,000 years ago. Today, the population of it has been composed of almost all white Immigrants from England. The population distribution is very uneven in Australia since some parts have a harsh climate and rugged soil. The population distribution of Australia is unequal.

           

Major Economic Activities in Australia 🇦🇺 

People of Australia have diverse economic activities. Manufacturers, Agriculture, Fishing are major economic activities. About 12℅ people are engaged in farming, 20 ℅ in various industries and 68% of people are involved in the service sector.

Agriculture and Sheep rearing 

Australia follows agriculture in a mechanical way and procedures crops on large scale. The southern part supports wheat and other cereals, oilseeds, legumes and citrus fruits. This area has wine industries too. The Murray-Darling Basin has also been used for agriculture. The tropical grassland areas such as Downs support wheat production and large scales sheep ranching and other daily castles. 

The Dingo dog has been used by people for looking after sheep at Downs. Sheep rearing is done even in the drier parts of the central lowlands. The number of sheep outnumbers the population in Australia. Australia exports high-quality wool in a large amount in the world. It also exports meat, dairy products, beef and mutton to Europe and other countries. 

•Forestry 

 Forestry has been commercialized in Australia. Lumbering is the chief activity because fast-growing trees and is valued for their timber, oil, gum, and resin. The main forest products are paper, wood clips, sawn wood and wood-based panels. 

Fishing 

The Australian people follow commercial fishing and produce various breeds. More than 500 marines and freshwater seafood species are prepared, sold and consumed at local and international markets. It largely contributes to the national economy. 

Mining and industries 

Australia is rich in natural resources, minerals and metal deposits. It is highly industrialised and holds its position as one of the world's largest producers of opal and exporter of coal. It equally produces iron ore, uranium, diamonds, gold, nickel, and zinc. It has advanced industries for manufacturing motor vehicles, ships and other technologies. It is an advance in power technology as well. The Murray river alone generates 1500MW Electricity. However, the continent is poor for the production of oil and natural gas unlike Europe and Asia. 

way of Life 

Australians are very much civilized people. These people wear thin to thick clothes depending upon the temperature from north or south. Most the Australians are Christians. So, they celebrate Christmas. They speak the English language together with another language of the aborigines and other immigrants.
